About life...so far.

Above all else...

be grateful - We have been given this gift of life, and a gift it is!! No one is entitled with life on earth yet we feel like we  can careen through life without really thinking about how everything we do affects others and then we disregard our gift as if it is ours to keep.  It is not. If I were to die tomorrow, I would like to say “thank you for this gift, I have used it wisely and I appreciate the time I have been given”.

Only by giving...

do we become rich.  Why should I contain my smiles, good thoughts and and my assistance to others?

Why keep all those good things inside; people benefit from receiving these things more than you benefit from keeping it to yourself.  So why not just smile at the person in line next to you and create a feeling of

kindness which lasts much longer than the time it took you to smile. I want to give away all my love and kindness in this  life rather than taking it with me when I die.  Open yourself up to the world and the world opens up to you.

Don’t be a victim....

We are only on this earth for a short time so if you have been dealt a bad hand, don’t let that define how you will finish the game.  I could have withdrawn myself from life so many times but I refuse to let anyone or anything define me or how much I get out of  life.  Your reward in life will be equivalent to the amount of effort you put into that life.

Stuff happens...

My favorite quote is “what a fool he who is surprised by anything which happens if life”. Why is it we expect things to just go our way and when they don’t, we are outraged, scared, shocked.  What guarantee did we get that life follows a specific pattern?  There are so many twists and turns in life; if we just accept what we have to work with, the anxiety and stress experienced by many will slowly fade away. Control what you can and simply accept what you cannot.

Try not too...

take yourself or your circumstances too seriously.  Try to look at the ridiculousness of some situations and just....LAUGH.  As you look back in life to the times of embarrassment or anger or worry; you realize that moment in time is gone forever and never really meant all that much.
