Creativity In Your Kitchen: Natural Immune Support Recipes

Chances are you are spending a lot more time at home than you may have intended for this time of year, and while it may feel a little frustrating, why not take advantage of the extra time?

If takeouts were usually a go-to for you due to your busy schedule then now would be the perfect time to get creative in your kitchen and experiment with some healthy ingredients.

It’s no secret that a healthy immune system is a key to protecting you against all sorts of infections, and in this article, we wanted to share some recipes that are easy to whip up, yet delicious and bursting in nutrients!

So if you need a little inspiration where your meals are concerned, look no further!

Smashed avocado toast with a twist

Who doesn’t love classic smashed avo on toast with a little sea salt and pepper? It’s such a simple meal, but creamy and delicious and full of goodness!

Avocados are rich in healthy fats and Vitamin E to reduce inflammation in your body and fight off free radicals and they will keep you full and satisfied.

This recipe is your classic avocado on toast that you love so much, but there’s a fun little twist with a boiled egg on top for a protein boost and a sprinkle of salt and pepper. I recommend getting creative with it and topping it with some of your favorite herbs too like cilantro or fresh basil, yum!

Loaded Buddha bowl

A buddha bowl is a huge bowl of vegetarian goodies and the fun thing about it is that you can get as creative as you want and use any ingredients you have on hand!

You’ll want grain or healthy carbs like rice, quinoa or sweet potato as your base, a heaping of fresh veggies or greens, a protein such as beans, eggs or legumes, healthy fat foods such as hummus or avocado, and then drizzle it all with a delicious sauce.

A buddha bowl really allows your creative juices to flow and it provides a hefty dose of vitamins, minerals, and antioxidants to give your immune system a serious boost!

Here’s a recipe I personally love, but use it as a guide and work with whatever you have on hand. Enjoy this one at any time of the day, it even makes a hearty breakfast!

Paleo blueberry muffins

Of course, your sweet tooth deserves a little attention too, provided it’s the good kind of sweetness!

Paleo refers to a recipe that is gluten, dairy, and refined sugar-free, yet the healthy substitutions more than make up for it!

This recipe is a winner and perfect for whenever that sweet craving hits! Instead of flour, it uses a combo of fiber-rich oats and almond flour to help get your digestive system running smoothly. Maple syrup adds the sweetness with a burst of antioxidants along with blueberries for a treat that tastes too good to be so healthy!
